1. Professor Tom Smith

Professor in Finance, Macquarie University, Australia & Co-Editor of Journal of Accounting Literature

Professor Tom Smith is one of the leading finance academics in Australia and has been ranked as the number one finance academic in Australia and New Zealand by both the Journal of Financial Literature and the Pacific Basin Finance Journal.  Tom is the leading researcher in Environmental Finance, Asset Pricing Theory and Tests; Design of Markets – Market Microstructure; and Derivatives. Tom has supervised over 50 PhD students to completion and his PhD students have over 50 tier 1 papers in their own names.

2. Professor Tam Nguyen

Professor Tam Nguyen (PhD, FCCA, CPA Australia, PGCHE, FHEA) is a Professor of Accounting and Finance at Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University, UK.

He has been qualified as a chartered accountant with several professional accountancy bodies, including ACCA, UK; CPA Australia; and CPA Vietnam. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His research interests cover a wide range of topics of financial reporting, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and climate finance.

His research has been featured in different internationally excellent research journals, such as Energy Economics, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Business and Society, Financial Accountability and Management, International Review of Financial Analysis, Accounting Forum, Business Strategy and the Environment, and Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting.

Professor Nguyen is currently Associate Editor at (i) Journal of Applied Accounting Research, (ii) Accounting Research Journal and (iii) Journal of Financial Reporting and Accounting. He is a Co-Chair of Corporate Governance-SIG, the British Academy of Management (BAM) and an academic advisor for the Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD)

3. Professor Ellie (Larelle) Chapple

Professor Ellie (Larelle) Chapple holds the position of Professor of Accounting at QUT Business School, where she serves as the Chief Investigator for the research program Accounting for Social Change.

She is also the Director of Research Training in the Faculty of Business & Law at QUT. Ellie is a member of AFAANZ, the Society of Corporate Law Academics, and a legal practitioner admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland. She holds a professional Doctorate in Juridical Science (SJD) from QUT. From 2014 to 2021, she served as Co-Editor of the Accounting Research Journal, and since 2021, she has been Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Accounting & Finance. Ellie has examined over 25 research master’s and PhD theses as an external examiner and currently supervises nine research degree students.

4. Professor Petros Ieromonachou

Professor Petros Ieromonachou

Professor in Business research & Dean for Research and Knowledge Exchange, Greenwich Business School, University of Greenwich

Professor Ieromonachou is the Associate Dean for Research and Knowledge Exchange at the University of Greenwich Business School, where he provides strategic leadership for research, REF planning, external income growth, and impact generation. He aligns school activities with the University’s Strategy 2030 and has strengthened research culture, collaboration, and funding. Under his direction, the School has achieved notable increases in external research income, REF readiness, and high-quality impact case studies. Previously, he led the Department of Systems Management and Strategy (2012–2020) and managed large academic teams across campuses and international partners. He founded the Connected Cities Research Group and co-directs the Networks and Urban Systems Centre of Excellence, contributing to major projects in the UK, Europe, and Asia. His research focuses on urban business ecosystems, sociotechnical transitions, and operations strategy, with extensive publications and invited talks worldwide. Holding a personal Chair since 2018, he has authored over 30 peer-reviewed papers and led externally funded projects totaling £12.49 million, including over £5 million for the University of Greenwich. His ongoing work continues to support the University’s strategic goals and REF2029 planning.
